Tip Top Rull Brushes is a collection of "paint roller" brushes, inspired by the famous "Nikko Rull" brush from revered Procreate and concept art veteran Nikolai Lockertsen

These brushes are fantastic for traditional painting techniques like "tiling" in values and colors, which you can either leave as a stylized painting or blend together to create finessed masterpieces. The value in these brushes is in the beautiful strokes, and ability to use traditional painting techniques digitally.

Rull brushes includes:

7x Rull brushes: We have 7 Rull brushes in this set, each with different and unique characteristics:

Brushed Rull: This brush is very painterly, made with high-res scans of real paint strokes. Give it a quick jab/flick to get a very raw, natural looking stroke. All of these brushes have a very small amount of "wet paint" settings in the brush engine, which let them intermix and blend with each other.

Streaky Rull: This has more of a streaky stroke, with visible grain and soft horizontal fade out.

Messy Rull: The Messy Rull is more opaque, with dense "pigment". Great for blocking in and expressive accent strokes. Has a gestural, messy look to it.

Fade Rull: This brush has a "cloudy" texture, with a soft horizontal gradation thats softer than the Streaky Rull. great for adding a touch of a color without dominating.

Wet Rull: Another opaque brush but with a bit more transparency, the Wet Rull has a little extra wetness and is great for short, jabby overlapping strokes.

Glaze Rull: A very transparent, textural glazing brush, great for overlaying splashes of color to create interesting textures.

Dry Rull: This has a very dry, textural look based on soft pastels. This one is excellent for dense thick color and tiling in particular.

You'll need Procreate 4 to take advantage of all the brush features, and preferably an Apple Pencil for the pressure sensitive brushes.

Procreate 4 is here, and its amazing! You can now install a LOT of brushes at once using the new Files app in iOS 11. We recommend backing up your purchase using an iCloud account (its free), or syncing them to Files with iTunes.

First things first... USE SAFARI on iPad!

Also make sure you open the link in the full Safari app (it must be Safari, no other browser will work), as the side-loaded one gmail/other email apps use won’t work.

Tip Top Brush sets use the new "Brushset" file format made available in Procreate 4.2+. This is great! You can now load brushes with one single file. Once you've completed your purchase, select the blue button "access digital content" and you will be presented with a list of your purchased brush sets.

If it ends in *.brushset, it is the file you want (color swatches go in the swatches menu.)

1. Using Safari on iPad, tap the file and wait for it download (might take a few minutes if you have a slow collection, the brushes often use high resolution textures). Most sets are around 30MB, but it tells you next to the file name. Please make sure once you click the brush file name you give it long enough to download, especially if you have a slower internet connection. Once you click the link it will begin loading another page, but it won’t look like much is happening until it’s done.

2. Now select "Open in Procreate". Done! The set can be found as a new group in the brushes menu.
