Introducing MARKERS 2022 - Incredibly realistic alcohol marker brushes developed for Procreate 5.

We've taken markers back to the drawing board (pun intended). This is a very easy to use collection of brushes, calibrated very carefully to mimic real alcohol markers. We made brand new seamless grain textures sampled from real Copic markers on RENDR paper that is absolutely lifelike!

We’ve also focused on packing more flexibility into a single brush for extra dynamic mark-making. For example with the Chisel Wet Blender brush, you can put down a hard-edge chisel tip scribble, and without even lifting the pen blend it out by easing up on the pressure a little bit. This makes for a very expressive stroke.

We find it very powerful to do the bulk of your design on one layer, and make liberal use of the Chisel Wet Blender with the Smudge Tool for a wet-ink look. The Brush Tip brush can be made fairly large, and used for pressure-shading large areas to get smooth gradients! It also works well at smaller sizes for finer line details.

On a new layer set to "multiply" blend mode, you can add expressive strokes and accent elements for absolutely gorgeous color blending! This REALLY sells the realistic marker look. Finally, create one more layer on top of the layer stack and use the Paper Grain brush with the color white to add dashes of paper texture to any areas that could use extra visual interest.

Brush makers for Procreate often design one brush, then iterate a few dozen incredibly mild/useless variations to pad the brush count to make it feel like a better value. To that, we say NO MORE!

We've heard from our customers again-and-again that they're getting bogged down in hundreds of brushes, interrupting the creative process. We aim to program as much versatility and dynamic mark-making into each and every brush as possible, so that they feel like true professional artist tools you can get to know and learn their nuances.

To that end, MARKERS 2020 Includes x4 SUPER dynamic and efficient Brushes:

  • Brush Tip: Alcohol markers like Copic have tips on both ends - Markers 2022 is no exception! This brush tip is capable of producing fine lines, but at larger sizes it can be used for pressure-shading large areas for beautiful gradients. Very useful for drawing portraits and anime.
  • Chisel Tip: Our favorite of the set - capable of producing classic big chunky markers but really dynamic and beautiful shapes as well. The chisel-shaped tip orients to your Apple Pencil, so its easiest to imagine you're holding a real chisel tipped marker. They'll behave the same! Theres a bit of pressure sensitivity to this one, as if it runs a little dry, but with a bit more pressure the ink flows!
  • Chisel Wet Blender: Based on the Chisel Tip, this brush was designed to work with the Smudge Tool and as a regular brush, so try both! As a smudge tool it allows you to blend areas of color together in a way that looks like it ran together while the ink was still wet, but still marker! This is hugely useful for us digital artists.
  • Paper Texture (use white on top layer): Sometimes you don't want the full "authentic marker experience" and you just want to apply or enhance the texture effect. You can use this brush on almost anything! Just create a layer on top all others, set the color to white, and you can selectively paint in authentic sampled marker paper speckles! I use it in my daily graphic design projects just for adding a bit of noise/grit to almost anything.

Procreate 5 is here, and its amazing! You can now install a LOT of brushes at once using the new Files app in iOS 11. We recommend backing up your purchase using an iCloud account (its free), or syncing them to Files with iTunes.

First things first... USE SAFARI on iPad!

Also make sure you open the link in the full Safari app (it must be Safari, no other browser will work), as the side-loaded one that gmail/other email apps use won’t work.

Note: Brush files end in *.brushset

Once you click the file name/download button, a blue arrow in a circle should appear in the top right corner of Safari. This is the "downloads" area. Tap this icon and you should see your download appear in a list like so:

Simply tap the file and it should automatically open in Procreate. Depending on if you've performed this before, it may ask you what you want to do with the file after tapping it, in which case you would simply find the Procreate icon and send it there.
