Foliage Brushes

$7.00
SKU: FOLIAGE-PROC

Please note Procreate users! Procreate 4.1 and above is required to use these brushes.

Tip Top Foliage Brushes is a set of 13 brushes that allow you to paint or tap in clusters of tree leaves, flower petals, plant stems/trunks/stalks, and different grasses. They're all heavily stylized, leaning more towards illustration as demonstrated in the box art. Now available in both Procreate and Affinity Designer/Photo format!

Brushes that say "(Finger Tap)" in the name are meant to be tapped in (mostly plant stems). The grasses can be painted in by making your stroke from right to left. The leaves are rotational so they don't have a specific direction, letting you easily paint in clusters and layers of leaves easily! We've also included a color palette taken directly from Studio Ghibli paintings, as well as a handy grunge brush allowing you to paint in textures!

Included are 13 brushes:

Included:

4x Leaf Brushes - These are *amazing* for making trees, bushes, vines, and all kinds of other plants with leaves! They save so much time! They're pressure sensitive, so in one stroke you can press softly for tiny leaves, and hard for huge ones - this gets the creativity flowing. The general workflow is to put down dark leaves (maybe a dark blue from the included color palette), then take a slightly lighter color and lay that down, until you get all the way through the mid greens and up to the bright highlights, which is how we did the box art.

3x Grass Brushes - These are really cool, we made them from the same poster color paint used to paint Ghibli backgrounds! They have a natural streaky whispy feeling which is perfect for stylized grass. Important: push your finger from right-to-left to get them to point straight up. If you want to tap these in, go into the brush settings and rotate the source image.

Hot Tip: in Procreate 4.1 you can now use the amazing warp transform to shape these however you want! Which is what we did in the box art.

3x Stems and Trunk Brushes - You need something to put the leaves on! So thats what these are for :-) There are many many ways to do these, so don't be afraid to draw in your own with Master Ink, Sketch Pencils or similar!

1x Flower Petals Brush - Same as the leaf brushes, but flower petals. Which are technically leaves but... but its nice to know they're good for flowers :-)

1x Grunge Shader Brush - Sometimes you want to texture the leaves you put down, so swipe-right on the layer to alpha lock it, and shade in more texture with this bad boy!

1x Block-In Brush - This brush is super handy for blocking in large silhouettes and providing dark undertone to the transparent leaf brushes. Love it!

Procreate 4.1 is required to use these brushes, and preferably an Apple Pencil for the pressure sensitive brushes.

Affinity users - please make sure you're up to date with the latest version.

Procreate 5 is here, and its amazing! You can now install a LOT of brushes at once using the new Files app in iOS 11. We recommend backing up your purchase using an iCloud account (its free), or syncing them to Files with iTunes.

First things first... USE SAFARI on iPad!

Also make sure you open the link in the full Safari app (it must be Safari, no other browser will work), as the side-loaded one that gmail/other email apps use won’t work.

Note: Brush files end in *.brushset

Once you click the file name/download button, a blue arrow in a circle should appear in the top right corner of Safari. This is the "downloads" area. Tap this icon and you should see your download appear in a list like so:

Simply tap the file and it should automatically open in Procreate. Depending on if you've performed this before, it may ask you what you want to do with the file after tapping it, in which case you would simply find the Procreate icon and send it there.
